Well last night was the last time I will ever see Scott Wood or Richard Howell in a Wolfpack uniform in PNC Arena. The Pack straight laid it on The Wake Forest Deamon Deacons last night 81-66. The Pack is 16-1 at home this season, their best record since going 17-3 in the 99-00 season. It also marked the 1st time since the 88-89 season that State swept the 3 in-state ACC teams (Carolina, Duke and Wake) in a season. Jim Valvano was still the coach and the Pack still played at Reynold's. So it is the first time it ever happened in PNC Arena. NC State (22-8 11-6) has won 6 of their last 7 games. State has 11 ACC wins for the first time simce 2003. If the Pack beats FSU in Tallahassee on Saturday, the 12 wins will tie the all-time win mark for the Pack.
Senior Richard Howell had 9 points, 2 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 block. Scott Wood had 8 pts, 1 assist, and 2 steals. CJ Leslie had 19 points and 10 rebounds for his 9th double-double of the year. The Pack leads the ACC in double-double games at 33. Rodney Purvis scored 14 and Lorenzo Brown scored 11. No basket got more cheers from the PNC crowd than when SR Jay Lewis came onto the floor with just over 2 minutes left and hit a 3 point shot to close out his home career with the Pack.
The Carolina Hurricanes take on the Montreal Canadiens tonight in PNC arena. Puck drops at 7pm. I hate the Habs.
I will be talking about anything that interests me in professional and college sports. baseball, football, basketball, hockey...whatever. I love the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, NC State Wolfpack, Cleveland Indians and Charlotte Bobcats. But that doesn't mean I won't discuss other teams. I like to keep it positive (for the most part) and always keep it clean.
